He bears the pride of a father realizing the fruit of his labor. 19 KENT AMOS After operating the after-school program in their home on an informal basis for a few years, Kent Amos left his job at Xerox to devote all of his time to what had become his mission in life: to save at-risk, black, inner-city children from the dangers of the streets by helping them complete high school and college.
